The eHealth Forum in Athens is rapidly establishing itself as a must attend event. 2016 was another gathering of innovative sessions and topics.
The ECHAlliance Ecosystem meeting featured speakers from Ecosystems in Ireland, Greece, Catalonia and Estonia, who congratulated the eHealth Forum on their tremendous initiative.

Our Institute participated in a number of different sessions, addressing both national and international audiences. We had the opportunity to present the results of work conducted at FORTH and participated in workshops to promote innovative eHealth solutions, as well as in the open, public debate on issues of national interest.
Workshops on iManageCancer and e-SENS resulted in quality discussions, and international participation was extremely focused: what are the solutions technology can provide today? What are the practical needs that can / should be prioritized? How can cross-border eHealth services, that are coming, be effectively supported? Our international guests left satisfied with what was gained from their participation in constructive debates, while in sessions that I attended focusing on national audiences the path of how the future of eHealth may evolve in Greece was discussed.
At the festival we were given the opportunity to present and discover innovative work made (also) in Greece. eHealth Forum has been an excellent opportunity for matchmaking and the creation of synergies with leaders in the area, in order to investigate how to: (i) have best practices implemented in the most efficient manner in our country, (ii) better support health systems in an ageing Europe, (iii) better support our struggling economy. Congratulations for the organization!

On behalf of CareAcross, I would like to thank you very much for putting together a very challenging event at Megaron & Technopolis-City of Athens! It was very impressive to see how you brought together a very diverse set of people, in terms of both startups and visitors, to these locations.
The country and the ecosystem need more events and activities like this, to further promote innovation and entrepreneurship – especially in the digital health space.

The eHealth Forum in Athens was a lifetime experience where I had the opportunity to learn from other experts, to interact with decision makers, to make new friends and business partners. The Athens Forum is the new meeting place for ehealth in Southeastern Europe, gathering experts and decision makers from more than 20 countries.
If you want to learn the latest developments on interoperability, eHealth services, ecosystems, funding opportunities, innovation, start-ups, cybersecurity and other hot topics related to digital health, eHealth Forum is the place you need to be! See you all in 2017!

The European Commission representatives were impressed by the young Greek startup entrepreneurs they met, and by scientists from the research centers of Greece who design and develop eHealth solutions. It is encouraging for the future of our country.
For eHealth applications to be beneficial to healthcare, to society and the economy they must address real needs of our lives, the needs of citizens, of doctors, of the state, and the economy. It requires deep mutual understanding, deliberation, collaboration and ultimately cooperation. This is what the eHealth Forum offered, the reason that justifies and dictates we need to continue this initiative.
