Biography

Kathi is the President of the Hellenic Cancer Federation-ELL.O.K. and the Vice President of ECPC-European Cancer Patient Coalition.  Kathi is a Public Affairs Consultant with broad and diversified experience in regulatory and public affairs, diplomacy, strategy, marketing and communications with international companies and public service organizations.

As a twice breast cancer survivor, she was involved in breast cancer, survivorship and cancer patient rights advocacy since the late 90s. She has a broad interest in cancer care policy and many aspects of front line cancer care, survivorship, cancer research, and cancer care economics, health technology assessment, digital technology in cancer care.

She presides ELL.O.K., the recently established Hellenic Cancer Federation, representing 17 founding members and a total of 24 Greek cancer patient organizations. ELL.O.K. will focus on cancer policy advocacy, cancer patient rights and capacity building of its membership.

Kathi has been re-elected as Vice President of ECPC for the mandate 2016-2019.  Jointly with the President, she is responsible for strategy, strategic alliances, relations with the European Commission and other EU and national high level cancer stakeholders. She represents ECPC at the EMA’s Patients and Consumers Working Group; she is a member of the European Commission Expert Group on Cancer Control; of the Expert Group ECIBC/QASDG European Commission Initiative on Breast Cancer & of the European Commission Working Group on mHealth assessment guidelines and other high level Committees and Projects. She serves as Director/Standing Committee Chair of other Greek & international organizations.

Kathi is a graduate of the University of Athens, Philosophy Dept. and Political & Economic Sciences Dept. and of McGill University, Canada. She is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Compassionate Health Care and a contributor to other.
