Gianna Tsakou is currently holding a position as Senior Project Manager / Analyst of funded ICT projects in SingularLogic S.A. She has been working as project coordinator / analyst in EC and nationally funded R&D projects since 1999 in both the public sector (Research Academic Computer Technology Institute/NLP Department, and Center for Research and Technology Hellas – Hellenic Institute of Transport, Athens) and private sector (Knowledge S.A., LogicDIS S.A. and SingularLogic S.A.). She has been involved as a researcher and/or project coordinator in over 25 R&D projects, the majority of which in the fields of services for elderly independent living and accessibility for people with disabilities, natural language processing and speech-enabled services. During her professional career, she has also acquired expertise in the design of ICT systems for cultural heritage, digital libraries, machine translation, and eLearning. Since 2003 she has been frequently acting as an expert evaluator and reviewer for 3 different Programmes of the EC.
She received her Diploma in Linguistics from the University of Athens, having obtained a four-year scholarship for excellent performance from the Latsis Foundation. She speaks four languages: Greek as mother tongue, English, French, and Italian.
