Christiana Gardikioti was born in Nea Halkidona, Attiki. He attended the French School of Piraeus “College Jeanne D’Ark” and when she reached the age of 18 she made her first significant move of her life. She parts from Greece to go to Canada to discover the “New World”. She lived 23 years in Canada.
She entered the College of Fine Arts taking Theatre, Drama and Literature as majors. She also attended the College of Education where she obtained her Professional Teaching Certificate and was hired by the Public Board of Education as a French Immersion Teacher/Coordinator in the Elementary Schools of Saskatoon. Furthering her career aspirations she progressed to undertake Educational Adminstration Diploma by taking more Financial, Management and Economics courses. She then moved to the Investors Group Financial Services Wealth Management Firm where she spent the next 8 very successful years as a Financial Planner.
Her diverse client base along with a significant assets portfolio lead her to accepting an offer from Merrill Lynch International. She was placed her in Merrill Lynch’s downtown Athens as International Financial Consultant and Securities Trader and as an Investment consultant in other Securities Firms though out Greece like P&K Securities.
In 2002 she decided to close the Financial Consultancy chapter in her life. She commenced an M.B.A. Executive Program from Liverpool Hope University in U.K. via IMESE in Thessaloniki and simultaneously she founded the Hamu Hellas Sprouts Ltd based at the Technology Park of Thessaly in Volos. That gave her the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in starting up a high tech agricultural start up company. She learned how to hydroponically grow seeds for human as well as animal consumption and very soon she will see a fodder production pilot project to become reality in Greece.
At the same time having changed path one more time she decided to accept the challenge of becoming the Manager of the Centre of Social Economy and the Business Development Manager of the Social Cooperative “EDRA”. She organized an International Conference with the support of Athens Information Technology Institute in Paiania Greece.
Her dream now that she lives away from Athens in Paralio Astros is the social and financial development of deserted villages up in the Arcadian Mountains starting by Agiannis her own village in the Perfecture of North Kynouria. This development can only be achieved via the creation and successful operation of technologically supported agricultural, co-operative and cultural enterprising. This TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE approach will promote and enhance the flourishing of decentralization, the creation of jobs and the exporting capabilities of the Region as well as invite tourists to participate and experience a unique mix of interactive tourism. Thus, the development of the Third Sector and the Social Economy will become an applied and successful reality.
