Vassilis Stamatopoulos holds an MEng in electrical and computer engineering and an MSc and a PhD in biomedical engineering. He is a certified project manager and innovation manager. He has triple helix professional experience having worked in public, private and academic sectors. He has been involved in several eHealth projects at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust.
He has also University level teaching experience in information technology, medical informatics and medical instrumentation. Vasilis has also been the manager for the Hellenic BioCluster between 2008-2010. He is currently working for the PRAXI Network – Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH) as a technology transfer consultant and national contact point for Horizon 2020. Dr. Stamatopoulos is also coordinating the Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) – Entrepreneurial Discovery Process (EDP) for health and pharma sectors in Greece on behalf of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT).
